Triisobutyl Phosphate is a high-performance organophosphate ester widely adopted as an antifoaming agent in cement and concrete admixtures. During cement mixing and concrete pouring, mechanical agitation easily generates abundant microbubbles trapped inside cement slurry. These bubbles will form voids after curing, lowering compressive strength and causing poor surface finish of concrete. TIBP can quickly migrate to gas-liquid interfaces, break existing foam and restrain new bubble generation without negatively affecting cement setting time. Compared with silicone defoamers, TIBP disperses well in alkaline cement systems and leaves no adverse residues. It effectively reduces excess air content, improves the compactness, uniformity and durability of hardened concrete and mortar. Our TIBP maintains stable defoaming performance under alkaline conditions and wide temperature ranges. It is commonly formulated together with polycarboxylate superplasticizers, suitable for precast concrete, ready-mix concrete and cement grout projects. At the same time, it also has the function of wetting and penetration, enhancing the dispersion effect of powders. In addition, this product can be applied in fields such as dye penetration, ink and coating defoaming, leather additives, and can also be used as an auxiliary flame retardant component.
