It serves as a key raw material for the production of silicone release agents, which are categorized into oil-based and water-based types. Oil-based release agents consist of a blend of high-hydrogen silicone oil and dimethyl silicone oil; when applied to mold surfaces, they form a hydrophobic silicone film that ensures excellent release performance, making them suitable for rubber, plastic, and fiberglass products. Water-based release agents are formulated by emulsifying high-hydrogen silicone oil and combining it with other additives; they are eco-friendly and odorless, making them ideal for food-grade molds and precision products.
High-hydrogen silicone oil-short for polymethylhydrosiloxane-belongs to the silicone family and exists in either branched or linear forms. Its defining characteristic is the presence of numerous reactive Si−H bonds within the molecular chain. It typically has a hydrogen content of ≥1.5% (commonly 1.5–1.65%, with ultra-high grades reaching 1.8%), distinguishing it from low-hydrogen silicone oil (hydrogen content of 0.1–1.0%); this high hydrogen content is the source of its key performance properties.
